In the last 20 years, Bartlett has grown to be the tenth largest city in the state of Tennessee, and the epicenter for the State's largest exporting industry.  Surface Dynamics announced that they will invest nearly $10 Million, and create 110 new jobs at their Bartlett facility in the next five years. This announcement comes following steady growth by the local facility in the last three years, as well as recent acquisitions by the international parent company, UnitedCoatings Group.
Surface Dynamics has grown their local employment by 300% in the last three years, and now they are set to add to that number even more. The company provides plasma coatings to medical devices and surgical equipment. They are an active corporate citizen, as a member of both the Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Memphis Medical Device Council. Their continued growth will benefit the local economy by providing quality, high skilled jobs to local residents, and providing a specialty service to the medical device manufacturers in the area.
