The Northeast Shelby County workforce is perhaps the best in the Memphis Metropolitan area and very likely one of the best overall labor markets in the Southeast United States. The Bartlett area is well noted for its diverse labor force, strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. Of a total workforce of 180,000, roughly 70% is white collar, 15% Blue Collar and 14% Service. 91% of the population has a high school education. 25% have some college and 30% have an Associate or Bachelor Degree. 14% have earned an Advance Degree.
The largest single occupation group is Services at 43% followed by Management, Business and Financial at 29%. As part of the Memphis Metro Market, the Bartlett area attracts numerous employees from throughout the Tri-State region up to a distance of about 50 miles |
